Leading Oxfordshire wedding celebrant Suzi is regional finalist in The Wedding Industry Awards 2027 as BEST CELEBRANT for a third year in a row!
Henley based wedding celebrant Suzi won the title of BEST CELEBRANT for the South Central Region at The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA) last year in 2026; and BEST NEWCOMER overall for the region in 2025. Suzi is now looking forward to the 2027 regional finals in November, to be hosted at the stunning wedding venue that is Froyle Park.
This is the first step on the road to National glory as an experienced wedding celebrant following 25 years in corporate communications. Suzi, who creates and delivers joyful and truly personal wedding ceremonies for her couples, caught the eye of the expert Judging Panel having once again received excellent feedback from her clients.
Her experience as a professional writer and storyteller for brands, businesses and their people has proved invaluable in her role as an independent celebrant. It has allowed her to pivot her skill set to write and deliver meaningful and memorable ceremonies from scratch, with the story of her couples at their centre.
Suzi van der Mark says: “To be a regional finalist in the BEST CELEBRANT category of The Wedding Industry Awards for for a third time is just so wonderful! These are such rigorous and trusted wedding supplier awards, because the expert panel of judges decide your fate entirely on client feedback. So huge thanks to all my couples who voted - some of whom were even on honeymoon!”
As a full time wedding celebrant, dedicated to her craft and vocation, Suzi says,
“Getting to know my couples and taking the time to create a truly bespoke wedding ceremony that's full of memorable moments and personal touches without any rules or restrictions so it’s a true reflection of them, their story, and their wishes is a total pleasure and a real honour.”
Personalised ceremonies like these are possible because Suzi feels its important not to put limits on her time with couples. Also, her couples choose the popular option of legally registering their marriage with a council registrar at the Register Office in advance of their wedding day celebrations, with a simple and popular Statutory Ceremony - more widely known as a '2+2' with just the couple and two witnesses.
Suzi comments: “A simple and popular Statutory Ceremony at the Register Office ensures that my couples can have a meaningful and limitless ceremony on their wedding day in front of all their guests with me without any rules or restrictions on music, readings, rituals, faith, vows or promises. A truly celebratory ceremony that reflects them and their wishes entirely because the legalities have already taken place. And as I only book one wedding a day, if a guest or the bride is running late, or we want to wait for the weather to pass, we can. I have no other weddings to rush off to so it can help with alleviating wedding day stress levels and any unforeseen circumstances too.”
A wedding trend this year for Suzi and her bespoke wedding ceremonies has been the choice of ringbearers, from toddlers to tabby cats, to daring ring bearer lotteries and doodle dogs! Check out her instagram page to see.
Suzi has also enjoyed success being listed as the recommended wedding celebrant at several more leading wedding venues, each one offering something different for couples on their wedding day, including Voco Oxford Thames in Sandford, Tipis at Mapledurham Estate in Reading, The Swan at Bibury, and The Relais Hotel in Henley on Thames.
